UJ Awards Mam’ Esther Mahlangu with Doctorate

World renowned Ndebele artist, Mam’ Esther Mahlangu, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate at the University of Johannesburg (UJ).

Mam’ Esther Mahlangu, now Dr Mahlangu, came dressed in her traditional Ndebele attire. She is famously known for her cultural entrepreneurship with her bold large-scale contemporary paintings that reference her Ndebele heritage. She has appeared on cover of magazines such as Destiny Magazine.
